RECENT INFORMATION

Breakfast at School!
Attention students!! The lunchroom is only serving 4-6 students each morning for breakfast. If this number does not increase, our breakfast program will be cut in December! If you think about it, stop by and eat the most important meal of the day at school and save our breakfast program. (Cafeteria)

Reminder for Students
The 2nd & 3rd floor of the building is off-limits to students with the exception of room 204, Karen Griggs' room which can be accessed only by the stairway between the English and Social Studies rooms. Please respect our upstairs neighbors. (Staff)

Costumes
For the safety of all of the people in the building, please do not wear costumes that cover your face (masks) where you cannot be identified. Other than that, any school-appropriate costume is accepted. (Staff)

Birds
Avanti Theater Department presents,Birds, a comedy, in the Performance Arts Theater. this Wednesday & Thursday (Nov 1st & 2nd), during 3rd period, 10:10 am - 11:00 am. You must have permission from your teacher to attend. (Kate)

Lakefair Court Candidate
Any junior female student with a 3.3 (or higher) GPA who is interested in being a candidate for the Capital Lakefair scholarship program, please see Heather in the counseling office this week. The candidate from Avanti will receive a $500 scholarship, $2500 if chosen to serve on Royalty Court, the person chosen queen will receive a total of $5000. (Kazda)

Avanti Haunted School
Thank you to all who participated and visited the Haunted School this year. It was a HUGE success.  (Hanby & Winkley)

Safe Place Workshops
We will be offering students the opportunity to attend a workshop with Sierra Abrams from SafePlace in the Advisory activity time on November 8th. More info can be found on this flyer or ask Nikki for more information. (Winkley)
RECURRING OPPORTUNITIES

Assembly Announcements form
You must fill out this form (click here)! if you wish to make announcements at the Assembly. We will now be taking surveys so that announcements will maintain relevancy to school activities. Only people who fill out this survey and get approval will be allowed to make announcements. (ASB)

Math tutors needed
Peer tutors needed for math Fridays from 12:20-2:20 pm. Help students create a better understanding of their Learning Plans and earn Service Learning credit at the same time. Connect with Nikki or Mr. Thedell for more details or to sign up. (Winkley)

Scholarships/Service Learning
If anyone is interested in applying for a Good Citizen scholarship through the Daughters of the American Revolution, please see Heather in the counseling office.
Great opportunity for service learning hours. The STEP program, which brings together teens and elders for through inspired conversation, is looking for new teen members. Call Linda at 360-480-1894 or email her at Linda.terry4@gmail.comor talk to Heather at the counseling office. (Kazda)

Women's Club Scholarship 
Seniors- the Women's Club of Olympia is offering three scholarships: $3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 to recipients who have financial need, community involvement and good academic standing. Scholarships are open to all genders. This is a local scholarship worth applying for! You must be planning to attend a school in WA state. Stop by the counselor's office for more information and a copy of the application! (Kazda)

Make an appointment with the counselor
I've created a link to a form on the Counselor's page, that students can fill out and send to me when they need to meet with me, either for academic or personal reasons. The hope is that instead of going to Brenda, students can requests appointments directly with me. (Kazda)
