Our Summer Camp program offers the opportunity for typical children to enjoy time on the farm. Summer Camp counselor volunteers spend time leading fun activities during our horse and farm camps, and maintaining a presence as positive role models.  We ask for a commitment of at least one full day (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or two half-days (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) per week over the summer, though some teen volunteers spend several days per week with us. (Must be 14 or older.)

We have set aside Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon as a youth volunteer opportunity. We will have adult volunteers present to teach, guide, and supervise. Youth should be willing to follow directions, get dirty, and work hard. Youth volunteers will be doing animal-care tasks and general farm-maintenance tasks alongside adult volunteers. Youth must arrive and be picked up on time. After their first sample day, they are asked to commit to a regular schedule, either every Saturday or every other Saturday.

While providing the benefits of volunteerism, our internships are hands-on learning opportunities for students to develop skills in experiential, nature-based programs working with animals and children. Interns are invited to work alongside and under the supervision of experienced staff to provide meaningful, educational activities and mentoring to our youth participants. Full- or part-time internships are available. If desired, interns may participate in events for the general public and/or fundraising, and receive academic credit where applicable.
