They are coming to Avanti thanks to the recent fundraising efforts of Avanti student, Tim Miller. Youth Sound is a Washington state program that promotes the power and importance of youth voice. They promote empowering individuals to be leaders in creating change in their lives, their communities, and the systems that impact them. Through workshops, events and activities they promote safe places for youth to have fun, connect with peers and to explore their artistic expression.

Youth Sound will be providing Avanti students with a musical performance during the December 6th advisory dayassembly, followed by a series of trainings on Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Students that attend the workshops offered will earn a certificate in Peer Counseling upon completion of the series.
