Calling All Avanti Bikes! Volunteers!

Our 3rd Period Avanti Bikes! students need 6 volunteer hours this session, and any returning Avanti Bikes! student is welcome to join them!

As we kick off our Fall Intro to Bike course, we're excited to give back to the community that has generously provided us with free bicycles, helmets, expert mechanics, and cycling education through our partnership with Walk-N-Roll.

Why Service Learning?

At Avanti, every bike class includes hands-on Service Learning experiences where students practice their new skills in real-world settings. These opportunities strengthen what students learn in class, allow them to showcase their knowledge, and make a positive impact in our community.

The Details:
Who: 3rd Period Avanti Bikes! students (required) + any returning Avanti Bikes! student (optional)
What: 6 hours of Service Learning during Session #1
Why: Build skills, support the community, make cycling accessible for everyone

Bonus perks:
Hours count toward Avanti's 75-hour Service Learning graduation requirement
Extra hours beyond 6 can be used to make up class absences (1 extra hour = 1 make-up day)
Multiple volunteering options available so you can choose what fits your schedule and interests

What You Need to Do:
Talk with your family about your volunteering options
Sign up for your preferred experiences by the end of the first week on STUDENTSQUARE (scroll down on this post to sign up)
Ask for help if you need support signing up or choosing an option
